UH receivers at marathon expo
University of Hawaii football stars Jason Rivers and Ryan Grice-Mullins will sign autographs at the Honolulu Marathon Expo from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (subject to change) Saturday at the Hawaii Convention Center. Also making appearances: running legends Jim Ryun, Alberto Salazar, Frank Shorter and Greg Meyer, the last American to win the Boston Marathon.

Trojans start season at No. 8
Mililani had an outstanding boys basketball regular season a year ago, finishing at 12-2 in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West. They stalled in the playoffs and hope to do better under second-year coach Hiram Akina.
Nelson, Sasada win on Big Island
Kirk Nelson and Brian Sasada endured deteriorating weather to capture the Aloha Section PGA Head Professional-Assistant Professional Championship on the Big Island.
Nelson, the head pro at Makena Golf Course in Kihei, and Sasada, Makena's assistant pro, braved 40 mile-an-hour wind gusts and driving rain to post a 3-under 141 at the Hualalai Golf Club to edge Turtle Bay's Kevin Carll and Kellan Anderson (142) by a shot.
Balanay, Buskies make PacWest team
HPU's Kelly Balanay and Antje Buskies were named to the PacWest women's volleyball all-conference team on Tuesday.
Balanay, a freshman middle blocker from San Diego, averaged 3.2 kills per game and posted double figures in kills in 13 matches. She was twice selected PacWest Player of the Week.
Junior outside hitter Buskies, from Berlin, averaged a team-high 3.44 kills per game and earned honorable mention honors for the Sea Warriors, who finished 10-16 overall (4-10 PacWest).
