A former Hawaii man has admitted to possessing more than 600 images of child pornography in October and November 2006.
Gregory D. Corbitt, 29, now of Glen Burnie, Md., pleaded guilty Monday in Maryland to possessing the images in numerous movie files on a laptop belonging to his wife and on compact discs stored at her Hickam Air Force Base home. Corbitt's wife was an active-duty Air Force member at the time.
Corbitt admitted to investigators that the pornography belonged to him and also showed them the CD containing additional images. Some of the images had been deleted from the laptop but were recovered on the computer's hard drive.
He faces a maximum of 10 years' imprisonment when sentenced Feb. 22 before U.S. District Judge Catherine Blake.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhood, a nationwide initiative to protect children from Internet exploitation and abuse.
