"Daddy, What Is Love?" tells the tale of the unconditional love between a father and child living in Hawaii, and was written by Jane Shapiro. "Little Malia's Big Poi Idea" is a comical story of a little girl who has the big idea of eating poi for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and was written by Jocelyn Calma.
Both books are well written, and the authors tell their stories effectively. However, readers of all ages will initially respond to the exceptionally stunning artwork by Robinson.
It really should be noted just how good Robinson's illustrations are. Not only are his brilliant color choices spot-on, but his eye for detail and composition also is absolutely first rate. You don't have to be an art critic to recognize the obvious fact that Robinson is one of the best illustrators in the country. Isle residents should be proud he calls Hawaii home.
The price of both books is much lower than most other children's books being published today, which adds to the overall appeal of owning these wonderful examples of Robinson's talents. If you love children's books or books in general, these two gems will bring a smile to your face.
