Amateurs take Governor's Cup
After taking a 6 1/2 to 5 1/2 point in the first day of competition, the amateurs snuck by the professionals 7-5 in the individual matches to win the Governor's Cup 13 1/2 to 10 1/2 at Mid-Pacific Country Club.
Amateur Alex Ching scored the largest margin of victory of the day, beating Lance Taketa 6 and 5. Teammate Bradley Shigezawa ousted Regan Lee 4 and 2 to also lead the amateur squad.
Casey Namaka defeated Chan Kim 3 and 2 to pace the professional team.
June Jones to hold book signings
University of Hawaii head football coach June Jones will be autographing copies of the book "Hawaii Warrior Football: A Story of Faith, Hope, and Redemption" at three locations in the coming weeks, including tomorrow at the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Jones will be also appear at the Pearlridge Borders on Dec. 2 and the Ward Centre Borders on Dec. 9. Both events will run from noon to 1 p.m.

Seasiders rise in basketball poll
The BYU-Hawaii men's basketball team moved up to No. 20 in the latest NABC Division II basketball poll, rising five spots from the previous week.
The Seasiders open their season on Friday against Western Oregon at the Central Washington Tournament in Ellensburg.
