Nash, Reinebold and Hogue at QB Club
Bob Nash, Jeff Reinebold and Bob Hogue will speak at the weekly Quarterback Club tomorrow.
Hogue is the current PacWest Conference commissioner and will be discussing the events that have occurred since he began in July. Jeff Reinebold, in his second year as the Warriors defensive line coach, will be discussing Hawaii's win over Boise State. Nash, the new Hawaii basketball coach, will be discussing his current team. Jack Sullivan will be presented the Sportsperson of the Month award for October.
The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Pagoda Ballroom.
Vulcans fall in Colorado
The UH-Hilo men's basketball team fell 77-72 to Colorado School of Mines on the final day of the Denver Thanksgiving Tournament yesterday, dropping the Vulcans to 0-2.
The Vulcans shot .452 from the field and converted only three of 12 from behind the arc for a .231 3-point shooting percentage.
Leading the way for Hilo were junior Jacob Briggs and senior Samuel Wilhoite. Briggs led all Vulcans with 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field, while Wilhoite posted a 16-point, 14-rebound performance.
Kyle Pape led the Colorado School Of Mines' offense with 24 points, five rebounds and one assist. Pape, a graduate of Iolani, is in his third year with the program.
» Hawaii Pacific fell to Chico State 75-64 in the final game of the 48th annual Mac Martin Invitational. With the loss, the Sea Warriors drop to 2-2 for the season, with both defeats coming in the tournament.
Hawaii-Pacific junior Justonn Smith was the lone Sea Warrior to make the All-Tournament team. Smith finished with 20 points, three rebounds and three assists in yesterday's loss.
