ARTWEEK
UH art gallery offers youngsters interactive educational Web site
Children who love learning about art will immerse themselves in the online presentation of "Excelling the Work of Heaven: Personal Adornment from China," the current exhibit at the University of Hawaii Art Gallery.
A new Web site geared toward students features photographs, illustrations, text, games and even a short lesson in Mandarin to educate youth about Chinese culture and values.
"Excelling the Work of Heaven," showing through Dec. 14, features nearly 700 objects made of silver, jade, feathers, ivory, precious stones and coral.
Visit hawaii.edu/artgallery for an overview of the exhibit and hawaii.edu/artgallery/programs/heaven for the educational section. The site also provides additional resources for teachers.
