"FENCES" FLIES HIGH AT TAG: Derrick Brown, seated left, shared a bench with Safari Jones at the Nov. 2 opening night party for the Actors Group production of "Fences" at Yellow Brick Studio. Brown is the director as well as a cast member, and he gets strong performances from fellow cast members Peter Montero, standing left, Christopher B. "BEER BOOK" debuts: "Big Beer Dave" Randall congratulated Cheryl Chee Tsutsumi on Friday as she signed copies of "The Hawai'i Beer Book" at the Willows. The book covers everything from beer history and home-brewing to "Beer Appreciation 101" and Hawaii's craft breweries. Randall, a beer connoisseur, helped Tsutsumi with her research.

REICHEL PARTIES AT PEARL: Keali'i Reichel, fourth from left, was the guest of honor Nov. 12 as Punahele Productions celebrated the release of his new DVD, "Kukahi: Keali'i Reichel Live In Concert," with a party at Pearl Ultra Lounge. Among those sharing the big event were Kaanana Akina, left, and Eleena Heleniki, both of whom are seen in the DVD, Punahele Productions principals Fred Krauss and Jim Linkner, and Hawaiian language consultant Puakea Nogelmeier.

MISSING DAVE CELEBRATES: Inflatable crowns were part of the dress code as Missing Dave -- Dave Letarte, left, Josie Cristobal, Erica Aloang, Deana Dempsey and Keith Monzen -- celebrated the band's eighth anniversary on Friday with a party at Red Lion University. Party guests received copies of a commemorative CD-single, "Call Me," and a new MD music video, "Bratislavan Nightmare." Sets by Busekrus and Lovechile got the party off to a great start.
