Art shop opens
A seasonal store with the whimsical name HI-HOHOHO opens today in the Lobby of the Hawai'i State Art Museum. It'll be open through December, featuring locally made fine art and gifts.
Store hours are Mondays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The museum is at the corner of Richards and Hotel streets.
Na Mea Hawaii and the Friends of Hawai'i State Art Museum opened the shop with just two weeks of preparation, as a showcase for local artists.
The store transforms for the month of January into HI - A HUI HOU.
A vegan feast
The Vegetarian Society of Hawaii presents its annual Thanksgiving Eve Dinner on Wednesday at Govinda's Restaurant.
The vegan buffet will include tofu turkey, faux ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, baked yams, pumpkin pie and Cinnamon Apple Slices in Sauce.
Seatings are at 5 and 7 p.m. Cost is $14, $10 children. Call 271-4780 for reservations, 595-3947 for directions.
