Ko Olina Charities, a nonprofit group created by Ko Olina Resort & Marina to serve West Oahu communities, is hosting its ninth annual Ko Olina Thanksgiving Outreach for homeless, needy or single-parent families residing on the Leeward Coast and in West Oahu. About 4,000 meals were distributed to 12 church locations, from Ewa Beach to Pearl City to Makaha. Here, Ren Frias and his wife, Tiffany Frias, were among more than 100 volunteers who helped load up the meals in UPS delivery trucks yesterday.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Paws were at the Hawaiian Humane Society yesterday taking holiday photos with people and their pets. Jon Almosara was with his dog Rylie, a Chihuahua, posing for photos with Santa Paws. The program continues today and next weekend.

Nathan Ching looked at some of the ukuleles on display yesterday at the 6th Annual 'Ukulele Guild of Hawai'i exhibition at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Hotel. The 'Ukulele Guild of Hawai'i is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, perpetuation and promotion of the ukulele as a significant musical instrument.
