» Waianae resident James Manaku testified in favor of a proposed extension of the permit to operate the Waimanalo Gulch Landfill. A photo caption on Page A3 in yesterday's early edition incorrectly said he was opposed to the extension.
The Web edition has been corrected.
» A tasting of the highest premium grades of Japanese rice will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii. A headline on an item on Page D3 Wednesday gave the wrong date. Call 926-7101. The Web edition has been corrected.
» A Makiki couple told police they heard a female screaming outside their home and saw a male and female leaving in a Hauoli Termite and Pest Control truck in 2006. A Page A5 article yesterday incorrectly reported that the couple heard the scream on the night Japanese national Masumi Watanabe was last seen alive on April 12. The Web edition has been corrected.
