» The Festival Companies, manager and developer of Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, has hired
Danielle Moea Kanoelani DeFries as assistant cultural director. She will assist in the promotion of Hawaiian arts and cultural practices at the center, which include hands-on demonstrations, exhibitions and entertainment. She previously served as a Realtor associate for RE/MAX 808 Realty, lead facilitator for Keiki o ka 'Aina Family Learning Centers and a hula teacher for Na Lei a Lililehua.
» Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa has announced the following promotions: Arnold Arellano has been promoted to executive chef from executive sous chef. He joined the resort in 2005 as a cook I and has previously served in the culinary departments of Keauhou Beach Resort and Hilton Waikoloa Village. Clement Kaimiola has been promoted to executive sous chef. He joined the resort's pre-opening team in 2004 and has previously served as executive sous chef at the former Kona Surf Hotel and as chef at Paradise Gourmet in Kona. John Dominguez has been promoted to director of group sales. He replaces Brad Doell, who has been promoted to director of sales and marketing. He joined the resort's pre-opening sales team in 2004 and previously served as a national sales manager and corporate partners sales manager in Arizona.
» A&B Properties has announced the following promotions: Paul W. Hallin has been promoted to executive vice president of development from senior vice president. He joined the company as project manager of development activities in 1992 and has previously served as a project manager for Lanai Co. and a similar position with Hemmeter Development. Michael G. Wright has been promoted to executive vice president of acquisitions and investments from senior vice president. He joined the company as vice president in 2001 and has previously served senior vice president and manager of GE Capital Hawaii's commercial real estate finance business and vice president with City National Bank in Beverly Hills, California.
» KUMU 94.7 has hired Michelle Shockley to its daily lineup. Her program will air 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and will also be broadcast on the weekends. She will also be heard on commercial production produced by KUMU's parent company VRE Hawaii. She has broadcasting experience at stations in Sacramento and Grass Valley, California and Milwaukee.
» Ko Olina Golf Club has named Travis Joerger as head golf professional. He is a member of the PGA who previously served as first assistant gold professional at the club for four years and has eight years experience in the golf industry as a professional and instructor.
» Castle & Cooke has promoted Angel Allas to vice president of island operations for Castle & Cooke Resorts from director of island operations. He will continue his responsibilities for island transportation, fleet maintenance, Hulopo'e Beach Park operations, facilities management and rock and concrete operations. He will also oversee landscaping and nursery operations, facilities and Hulopo'e Beach security and maintenance. He joined the company in 1990 and has previously served at Manele and Ko'ele hotel properties as well as the residential construction division.
