Flags waved yesterday as soldiers, musicians and supporters of combat veterans marched during the 62nd annual Wahiawa Veterans Day Parade. The parade, sponsored by the Wahiawa Lions Club, featured 45 marchers, 17 vehicles and five bands representing various schools, clubs and U.S. military branches.

Mayor Mufi Hannemann, left; Warren Luke, center, chairman of the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Hawaii Foundation; and Zhongshan Vice Mayor Feng Yurong rededicated a statue of Sun Yat-sen yesterday in Chinatown. The statue depicts Sun, the man considered to be the father of modern China, as a 13-year-old student in Hawaii.
