Fun fundraisers fill faith calendar during fall
The season of fall fundraisers continues with sales planned at Oahu churches next weekend.
» Next Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Church of the Crossroads, 1212 University Ave. The Fall Fair will offer breakfast waffles for early shoppers and barbecue chicken all day. Planners promise furniture, electronic equipment, books at the rummage tables; baked goods, preserves and plants; and craft items from Madagascar, the Mideast and Africa. Activities for children, body painting and musical entertainment will go on all day. It will benefit the UCC Transition House for victims of family violence.
» Next Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Jarrett Middle School cafeteria, 1903 Palolo Ave. The Parish Fair sponsored by Good Samaritan Episcopal Church will feature handmade crafts , baked goods and a rummage sale of clothing, household goods and children's items. There will be activities for children. Hot dogs and shave ice will be sold. It will support church programs.
» Nov. 18, noon to 3 p.m., Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 1403-A California Ave., Wahiawa. The Fall Family Festival will include an inflatable slide, face painting, craft lessons, games and music. There will be a rummage sale and a bake sale. It will raise funds for parish participation in World Youth Day.
