UH selects emerging leaders for pilot program
The University of Hawaii selected 30 faculty and staff to be the inaugural participants in the President's Emerging Leaders Program.
The pilot program is an initiative of UH President David McClain to develop future campus and system leaders. About 125 applied for the program, according to UH officials.
The program will include sessions on topics such as finances and budgeting, personnel and supervision, and shared governance. Other topics will deal with the legislative process; collective bargaining issues; accrediting bodies; federal funding and regulatory oversight; and social, political, economic and demographic trends.
