Rambo, a Great Dane pup, planted a kiss on a resident at the Maluhia Nursing Home yesterday in Alewa Heights. Rambo, along with Polo and Chunky, are part of the Tails of Aloha animal therapy program. "The residents just love the animals," says animal therapy coordinator Gayle Igarashi. The dogs are owned and trained by Sharon Black.

Honolulu resident Dennis Pearson held his dachshund dragon, Pono, at the Ward Warehouse's "Howl-O-Ween" canine costume contest yesterday in Kakaako. Winners received goodies from the Pet Spot, including food, apparel and treats.

Leilani Schlesser, 6, seemed to mirror the countenance of her painting Saturday during the annual La Pietra Children's Fair at La Pietra's campus on Diamond Head. The fair, a fundraiser for the school, featured arts, crafts, pony rides, a petting zoo and the Hasegawa Store.
