HUNTER'S MOON

A full moon, shot through a telephoto lens, rises along the edge of Diamond Head Crater. Last night's hunter's moon, the name for the moon after September's harvest moon, is the closest it will get in 2007, about 30,000 miles closer than April's moon, which was the farthest from Earth.

Honolulu Community College held a Hawaii Construction Careers Day for high school and college students yesterday. The event included heavy construction equipment, demonstrations and career counselors. Kyle Souza, left, Joe Correia, Ryan Kunihiro and John Yen had a good time watching a Saint Louis classmate attempt to put a chain on a chain saw.
