Shriners look for orthopedic patients

Shriners Hospitals for Children Honolulu will hold free screening exams from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17 for any child under 18 who might be eligible for free treatment of orthopedic problems.
The exams will be at the hospital at 1310 Punahou St.
More than 25,000 children from Hawaii and Pacific nations have received free orthopedic care at the hospital since it was established in 1923.
The hospital provides surgical and rehabilitative care for a variety of orthopedic conditions, such as clubfoot, scoliosis, hip, hand and back problems, limb-length discrepancies, sports injuries and problems related to burns and spinal cord injuries.
Treatment also is offered for orthopedic problems associated with spina bifida, polio, cerebral palsy and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
