'Expressions of Peace' winners named
Winners of the first "Expressions of Peace" art and literature contest for Hawaii's inaugural Peace Day have been chosen. Their work will be displayed in the "Peace Day Gallery" at the State Capitol Chamber level from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until Oct. 22.
Literary award winners: Ages 7-11 -- Dylan Newbro, and Maya Grimm, of Montessori School of Maui, Makawao; Ages 12-17 -- Ikaika Puni-Mau, Hookupono Program, Honolulu; Adult -- Michiko Kurokawa, Tony Quagliano, Raofa Ahrary, and C. Keith Haugen, Honolulu; Shu Hikichi, Hawaii Tokai International College, Honolulu.
