Olympia Dukakis to coach acting in UH master class
Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis will hold a master class at the University of Hawaii-Manoa next month and give a public talk, "State of the Arts," on her views about theater and film.
Dukakis is an actress, director, producer, teacher, activist and author (her best-selling memoir is "Ask Me Again Tomorrow"). She won an Academy Award for supporting actress for the 1987 film "Moonstruck."
She also teaches master classes in acting throughout the country.
Dukakis will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 In the UH Architecture Auditorium. Cost is $15, $5 for UH undergraduates.
A noncredit "Acting Master Class with Olympia Dukakis" with be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 and 18 at UH's Yukiyoshi Room in Krauss Hall. Cost is $250 to participate, $125 to observe. Dukakis will critique scenes or monologues.
