Brady's talk will cover Kalaupapa
Dr. Kalani Brady, a weekly speaker on the KHON-TV segment "Ask the Doctor," will be the featured guest at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Temple Emanu-El for the its ongoing "Lunch and Learning" series.
He will address the topic "Kalaupapa: 60 Miles East and 60 Years Back in Time."
Brady is in private practice in Honolulu, is an associate professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine and has been published extensively. He is in the choir at Temple Emanu-El.

Anonymous pupil to discuss Burma
The Rev. Jeff Lilley, a new pastor at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu, will be the featured speaker Wednesday at the Interfaith Alliance Hawaii's Open Table at Temple Emanu-El.
An anonymous young Burmese ministerial student also will speak on "Brutality in Burma," regarding his experience living in Myanmar, and his spiritual reflections. A general discussion on what action the alliance could take will follow.
Lilley will speak on "My Faith Journey as a Lutheran Pastor" at the temple, 2550 Pali Highway. The meeting will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m.; coffee and pastry will be served.
Other speakers scheduled include David Foreman, president of the Japanese American Citizens League, Honolulu Chapter, which received the Interfaith Alliance Hawaii Community Award this year for facilitating activism in civil rights legislation this year.

Science of Mind classes starting
The Windward Religious Science Church will hold Science of Mind classes from Tuesday to Dec. 4 at its King Intermediate School location in Kaneohe.
The series on "The Mind/Body Connection" will be about "Principles of Successful Living" and taught by the Rev. Patri Hildreth. The classes will be held every Tuesday for eight weeks from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Building A of the school.
The initial class is free, but the following classes are $15 each, or $100 for the entire course.
Regular Sunday services are held at 11 a.m. at 46-155 Kamehameha Highway in King Intermediate's Building F.

Siu to perform songs off new CD
Musician Koa Siu will hold a free concert today to introduce his new Christian worship CD, "I Am Yours."
The concert will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the Hawaiki Tower at the corner of Piikoi and Queen streets.
A 2004 graduate of Pacific Rim Bible College, Siu is a songwriter, performer and worship leader at the New Hope Christian Fellowship.
He has served as worship pastor at New Hope Hawaii Kai since 2003, and launched a full-time music tour in September.
He released albums "Thirsty Life" in 1998 and "Where You Are" in 2007. Siu, with his wife and two children, will relocate in January to Sydney, to attend Hillsong College.
