A spacious layout with plenty of space between tables, an eclectic mix of entertainment and fast service at food and beverage stations made "Evolution 2007" one of the best such fundraising events of the year.

A BIG NIGHT FOR ANDREA: International sumo legend Konishiki and his wife, Chie, right, were in the house Saturday for "Evolution 2007," a gourmet cuisine and wine-tasting fundraiser for the Lupus Foundation of America-Hawaii Chapter, at the Sheraton Waikiki. Andrea Dismuke, attending as a guest of supporter George Chun, saw the couple at a nearby table and zipped over to say hello.

FASHION SHOW? WHAT FASHION SHOW?: Milan Tresnak, left, Jane Benney and Nick Serkies were ready to party Saturday when they checked out "L.A. Fashion" at Nick's Fishmarket. There was a great crowd for the event, billed as "a night of fashion with L.A. designer Rachel Pally," but as for the highly anticipated fashion show, if you blinked you missed it! Oh well!

THE HEALING POWER OF ART: Dennis Okada, left, addressed the crowd as Dale Ruff, regional vice president of Louis Vuitton Hawaii, looked on at the opening of "Art from the Heart," an exhibition presented by Louis Vuitton and the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific, at Louis Vuitton Waikiki on Friday. Okada, one of several participants in the LV Creative Arts Program, said volunteer Ruben Young had taught him when to take "one more step" with a painting and when to stop.
