Excellence awards go to 11 professors
The University of Hawaii Board of Regents selected 11 professors for the 2007 Regents' Medal for Excellence in Teaching. From the university's campuses, the winners are:
» Kathleen French, instructor in social science at Windward Community College;
» Lorelle Ann Peros, assistant professor and chairwoman of the business and hospitality program at Maui Community College;
» Maria Fabro, instructor in nursing at Kauai Community College;
» Donnalyn Kalei, instructor in the administration of justice program at Hawaii Community College;
» Kathy Hill, professor of accounting at Leeward Community College;
» Femar Lee, assistant professor in developmental studies and math at Honolulu Community College;
» Colette Higgins, associate professor of arts and humanities at Kapiolani Community College;
» Shirley Yamashita, specialist in educational technology in the College of Education at UH Manoa;
» Cynthia Franklin, professor of English at UH Manoa;
» Dr. Jill Omori, assistant professor of family medicine and community health at UH Manoa's John A. Burns School of Medicine;
» John Barkai, professor and director of the clinical program at UH Manoa's William S. Richardson School of Law.
