UH alums lead U.S. to victory
Former Hawaii standouts Heather Bown and Robyn Ah Mow-Santos helped the U.S. women's national volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-22 win over the Dominican Republic to close pool play at the NORCECA Women's Continental Championship in Winnipeg, Canada.
Bown had seven kills and four blocks in the win. Ah Mow-Santos set a U.S. offense that hit 49 percent on 73 swings with just four hitting errors. Punahou graduate Lindsey Berg subbed in for Ah Mow-Santos at setter.
The U.S. (3-0) will play in the semifinals tomorrow. Its opponent will be determined by today's quarterfinal matches.
