Yoga shows sport exercise and fashion gear
By all means, consider yoga as a way to achieve flexibility, balance and a clear state of mind. But don't forget the details -- you'll want to look good and properly accessorize while focusing your chakra.
Plank, the Boston-based yoga and lifestyle design shop with many celebrity clients, joins up with The Place in Ward Warehouse for an afternoon of yoga, fashion, and cocktails on Saturday.
Andrea Geraci, New England yoga champion and a fitness guest on VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club," will lead a class from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jennifer McKinley, general manager and partner with Plank will lead a Q&A session about Plank's soap, called Cor, at 2 p.m. Ola Hawaii will be demonstrating its spa products, distilled from local fruits, flowers and botanicals. And a fashion show of yoga mats and gear runs from 5 to 7 p.m., with cocktails.
What's special about the mats? They're made without PVC, latex or rubber; they're biodegradable, recyclable and nontoxic; they're printed with photographs; they cost $98. Designs include an image of a toy snake crawling through wheat grass.
What's special about the soap? It's the ultimate high-end facial cleanser, made with silver, which is being billed as an antibacterial agent with cell-repairing properties.
Plank's Cor facial soap is specifically intended to even skin tone, cleanse, maintain moisture, replenish collagen and protect from UV rays to ensure a bright, luminous complexion in minutes. It costs $125 for a 120-gram bar (trial size, $12)
