Punahou picks apart Kamehameha

Kimo Makaula scored on a 7-yard run and Robbie Toma caught a 9-yard touchdown strike from Cayman Shutter as Punahou cruised over Kamehameha 28-7.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Iolani quarterback Kela Marciel passed for 341 yards and two scores as Iolani beat Damien 46-19.

Damien running back Kama Bailey finished with 294 yards on 14 carries.

Fukuroku helps Wahine over Dukes

Taryn Fukuroku scored a pair of goals and Hawaii routed Duquesne in a college soccer match 5-2 last night at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Mari Punzal, Tehane Higa and Emma Makepa-Foley also scored for the Wahine. Kori Lu held the Dukes to one goal over nearly 72 minutes before Nicole McClure took over and surrendered an unassisted goal.

Knights trip Silverswords in soccer

Northwood stopped Chaminade 3-0 in women's soccer yesterday at Honolulu.

Karla Sundquist scored twice in the first 6 minutes and Tina Dreier added a goal in the 50th minute for the Knights.

Marissa Minor had 10 saves for the Silverswords.
