OHA gives nonprofit groups $15,000
The
Office of Hawaiian Affairs awarded a $15,000 community capacity building grant to the
Papakolea Community Development Corp.
The grant will support the development of consolidated business plans for two nonprofit organizations in the Papakolea Hawaiian homestead community: Papakolea Community Development Corp. and Kula no na Poe Hawaii. Additionally, this project will sponsor the development of strategic plans for community organizations Papakolea Community Association, Kalawahine Streamside and Kewalo Hawaiian Homes Community Association.
The American Cancer Society Hawaii Pacific Division received the following donations in support of Childhood Cancer Programs:
» The Bretzlaff Foundation: $10,000 in general support of these programs
» Friends of Hawaii Charities Inc.: $10,000 in general support
» ABC Stores: $3,000 in general support
» Julia Temple Davis Brown Foundation: $3,000 in support of the Family Can*Sur*Vive conference
