Jerry Lewis returns for his annual telethon to raise funds for the fight against muscular dystrophy
For the 42nd year, Jerry Lewis hosts the Labor Day Telethon this weekend to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
An array of celebrities, from Celine Dion and Tony Danza to Ace Young and Bear in the Big Blue House, will appear on the show, broadcast from the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas.
Tune in from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 p.m. Monday on KITV/ ABC.
Jann Carl of "Entertainment Tonight," Tom Bergeron of "America's Funniest Videos" and "Dancing with the Stars," Alison Sweeney of "Days of Our Lives" and "The Biggest Loser" and comedians Norm Crosby and Bob Zany serve as co-hosts.
Proceeds support MDA's research and services for children and adults with more than 40 neuromuscular diseases. Each hour, local stations will cut away from the national broadcast to report on local services and families served by the association. Crystal Akana of KDNN-FM radio will emcee the local portion.
Last year's telethon raised $61 million. Lewis' goal this year is to surpass that total by one dollar. For more information, visit www.mda.org.
