Big Brothers Big Sisters installs Morris

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu installed Yvonne Morris as a member of its board of directors for 2007. She is currently director of development at Maryknoll School.

Robert Fanelli, a University of Hawaii Ph.D. student, is one of eight worldwide winners to receive a $12,500 research scholarship for the 2007 Information Security Scholarship Program. The nonprofit International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium Inc. sponsored the program.

The board of directors of the Hawaii Women's Legal Foundation awarded the following grants to support and help improve the welfare of needy women and children: $2,500 to Child and Family Service for the Westside Women's County Fair's effort to photograph and fingerprint 100 children on Kauai; $2,500 to YWCA of Kauai to assist Legal Aid of Kauai in processing legal documents for women; $2,500 to Planned Parenthood for training workshops targeting at-risk teenage girls; $7,500 to Lanakila Rehabilitation Center to continue Meals on Wheels service for senior low-income women next year; and $2,500 to Waianae Coast Christian Women's Job Corps to move and set up two portable buildings for computer and nursing lab equipment.
