JAMMING WITH ROXY: The women of the Roxy Surf Team -- Kassia Meador, left, Crystal Dzigas, Kalia Moniz, Oleema Miller, Jennifer Smith (2007 women's world longboard champion for the Association of Surfing Professionals), Amy Murphree and Carissa Moore -- enjoyed the music of Kaukahi at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach Hotel on Thursday. They were in town for the Roxy Jam Honolulu at Queen's Beach and to promote "Shimmer," a DVD that shows team members surfing some of the world's best breaks. Expect them back for the 12th Annual Roxy Pro Hawaii competition in November.

GETTING "CRAZY, SEXY" AT PEARL: Kite-boarder Nina Johansson, top left, Matt Matsunaga, and Kathryn and Guy Mashima shared a table at "Crazy, Sexy, Pearl," a pau hana party presented by the Slopes of Diamond Head Hui at the Pearl Ultra Lounge last Tuesday. Smart partyers arrived on time -- by 8 p.m. the club was packed solid. The hui will present its annual Halloween party, "Crazy, Sexy, Ghoul," at Aloha Tower Oct. 20.

HEALING WITH PHOTOGRAPHY: Supportive husband David Callies joined ProjectFocus Hawaii founders Lisa Uesugi, center, and Laurie Breeden Callies on Aug. 19 in the Pineapple Room at Macy's Ala Moana at the VIP reception for "Lost & Found," an exhibit of photographs by children in the Kids Hurt Too program. "Lost & Found" helped kids who have lost loved ones recover by expressing themselves with photography (see www.projectfocushawaii.com).

MAN OF THE HOUR: Wanloe Konyak Schock, left, welcomed maestro Andreas Delfs, his wife, Amy Delfs, and Halekulani Corp. VP Patricia Tam to the Honolulu Symphony's "2007-08 Season Launch Party" at Nobu Waikiki on Thursday. Violinist Sarah Chang, who was supposed to meet the symphony's major donors at the party, was a no-show, but maestro Delfs was such a great host, and Nobu's hors d'oeuvres so good, that most guests did not notice.

A PERFECT SHOW: Hoku Ho celebrated backstage Friday with her brother, K-Boy Ho, after she opened for Gwen Stefani at the Blaisdell Arena. Hoku needed no special effects or elaborate choreography to win the crowd's support as she introduced the songs from her new CD, "Listen Up," and shared a bit of history with her 2001 film soundtrack hit, "Perfect Day," from "Legally Blonde."
