Musician with isle ties makes 'Tonight Show' appearance
Tune in to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" tonight to catch up with Justin Young, the singer/guitarist/composer whose career has been on the rise since he won first place in a Hawaii songwriting competition in 1995.
Young won't be front and center tonight -- he's performing as guitarist for R&B songstress Colbie Caillat, along with two other musicians with local ties, guitarist Tim Fagen and bassist Mike White. Caillat and her band are currently touring as opening act for the Goo Goo Dolls.
Following the tour, which runs through mid-September, Young plans a performance with C&K and Kalapana in Long Beach, Calif., Oct. 20. He also is working on a new CD.
"The Tonight Show" airs on KHNL/NBC at 10:30 p.m.
