Mei Ling Luke-Almong blew a bubble using her hand yesterday at the I Love Liliha Town Festival. The event featured entertainment, a health fair, fresh local produce, plant sales, arts and crafts and "A Taste of Liliha" event featuring food from Liliha restaurants.

Helping to paint the Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center yesterday were, from left, Alan Miyamoto, Ira Tagawaw, Rand Yamasaki and Don Acohido. The upgrade was coordinated by the Kalakaua Lions Club with help from the Pearl City Lions Club and the Kamehameha Lions Club. The center helps seniors remain healthy, independent and living in the community by providing exercise, recreation, health promotion and volunteer activities, and by linking seniors with community services.

FISHPOND CLEANING

Desirie Hewett, left, Maxine Mamea, Blaine Ginoza and Nalu O'Connor carried rocks to help fortify the Waikalua Loko Fishpond wall in Kaneohe yesterday. Clyde Tamaru organized volunteers to clean up the fishpond and fortify its walls. Volunteers also removed trash from city-owned streams, passed out pollution prevention fact sheets, and stenciled storm drains to remind citizens to "Dump No Waste."
