Metro Manila
Catch a glimpse of what's going on in contemporary Filipino art at thirtyninehotel, where a traveling exhibit showcases works by more than a dozen alternative artists in Manila. "Manila Envelope: A Snapshot of Contemporary Arts Culture in Metro Manila" runs through Saturday at the venue.
The show was curated by Jenifer K. Wofford, an Oakland-based artist and graduate student at the University of California- Berkeley, where "Manila Envelope" had its original run before coming to Hawaii. Wofford's intention with "Manila Envelope" was to provide a context for the city's current contemporary arts community and to nuture an arts relationship between the United States and the Philippines.
