10 win Masami Oishi Fund scholarships
The
Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union will award $1,500 scholarships from the Masami Oishi Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of its former president-CEO for the 20th year.
The 10 students to receive the funds include Matthew Ebia, who will attend the University of the Pacific; Christine Koizumi, Kimi Prentice and Chrisna Woo, University of Hawaii; Stacy Koyama, Soka University of America; Ashley Miyano, University of Nevada-Las Vegas; Gilani Moiseff, Carnegie Mellon University; Rachel Moy, New York University; Lance Sakamoto, University of Southern California; Kelsie Uehara, Portland State University.
Sarah Kujubu of Kaneohe, a junior at Iolani School, received a scholarship to attend the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation 2007 Summer Seminar Program in Colorado.
The William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii-Manoa selected Fang Ye of China and Suonpraseth Prum of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, as the 2007-2008 Freeman Fellows of its Master of Laws Program.
Paul Mullowney was appointed the new artistic director of No'eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao, Maui. He will also keep his current position as director-master printer of the Hui Press.
