Superferry to host open preview on Maui, Kauai
Hawaii Superferry, which is planning to begin service in late August, will hold a community preview onboard the Alakai for Maui and Kauai residents.
Maui residents can view the vessel from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 18 at Kahului Harbor and Kauai residents will have the same opportunity from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Nawiliwili Harbor.
Anyone wishing to attend the free preview must register at www.HawaiiSuperferry.com. Reservations will not be accepted via e-mail or telephone.
Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wishing to attend must provide the names of everyone in their party upon registration.
Shuttle service to Maui's Kahului Ferry Terminal will be from Maui Community College on Kaahumanu Avenue. On Kauai, to the Nawiliwili Ferry Terminal, will be from the Kauai Veterans Center parking lot on Kapule Highway. The service will be provided every 15 minutes on the day of each island's event from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No parking will be allowed at the terminals, except for handicapped vehicles.
To enter harbor facilities, all guests must be listed on the security manifest. Those 18 and over will be required to show a government-issued picture identification, such as a driver's license or a passport. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Hawaii Superferry will offer daily service between Maui and Oahu and travel six days a week between Kauai and Oahu.
