National magazines feature isle eye doc
Dr. Michael Bennett, founder and chief executive officer of Retina Institute of Hawaii and Hawaii Vision Project, has been featured in two national magazines.
The vitreoretinal surgeon wrote an article with a colleague, Dr. Wendy Yee, on age-related macular degeneration appearing in the July-August issue of Healthy Aging magazine. He also discussed the effects of exercise on age-related macular degeneration in the May-June issue of American Fitness magazine.
New officers for 2007 to 2008 of the American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter, include William Wilson of Hawaiian Dredging, chairman; Peter Ho of Bank of Hawaii, vice chairman; Patrick Kobayashi of Kobayashi Group, secretary; and C. Scott Wo of C.S. Wo, treasurer.
The Hawaii Society of Corporate Planners elected the following officers for 2007 to 2008: Lou Darnell of Com Tel, president; Lisa Maruyama of Bright Light Marketing Group, president-elect; Diane Shigeta of A&B Properties Inc., treasurer; John Ellis of LPL Financial Services, co-treasurer; and Kevin Sakamoto of Bank of Hawaii, secretary.
