Arthritis Foundation receives $10,000

» The Independent Order of Oddfellows and Rebekahs donated $10,000 to support programs of the Arthritis Foundation. The donation was made through the Weinberg Friends Project, as a result of more than 100 hours of community service given by the order members.

» The Hawaii Tourism Authority awarded $50,000 to the Hawaii Healing Garden statewide festivals. The Hawaii Health Guide sponsors the festivals to promote healing arts, including the state's unique medicinal and nutritional plants and a variety of cultural practitioners.

» The Schuler Family Foundation donated $40,000 to Island School on Kauai's $4.6 million campus Expansion Capital Campaign. The school recently completed a gymnasium and is reviewing bids for a Center for Hawaiian Culture & Arts.

» Friends of Hawaii Charities Inc. gave $1,000 to Save the Sea Turtles International dba Adopt a Beach Hawaii cleanup programs and recycling receptacles for garbage.
