ResortQuest sets kamaaina rates
ResortQuest Maui has announced its rates for kamaaina, Hawaii-based military, Guam and Saipan residents through Jan. 1. They are:
ResortQuest at Papakea Resort: Oceanfront site features 13 acres of freshwater koi ponds with tropical landscaping. It is a popular site for reunions, family gatherings and weddings. Rates from $159 per night, plus applicable taxes.
ResortQuest Paki Maui: Minimum three-night stay required for best oceanfront value on the Kaanapali Coast, where suites encircle the interior garden atrium's soothing waterfall and fishpond. From $117 per night plus taxes.
ResortQuest at the Maui Banyan: Contemporary condominium resort has spacious suites that are popular with families and larger parties. From $114 per night plus taxes.
Kaanapali Shores: Deluxe condominium resort on Kaanapali Beach offers hotel-caliber services, with a beachfront restaurant and bar and two swimming pools. From $182 per night, plus taxes.

Fireworks light the sky tonight
The Fourth of July has passed, but one company's milestone is our free show. If you happen to be in Waikiki tonight, look up. GNLD International will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with an 8:30 p.m. fireworks show at Kuhio Beach, 2455 Kalakaua Ave.
Watch the pyrotechnic display on the beach or from the comfort of your high-rise lanai.
GNLD is a health products company welcoming distributors from 50 countries, including 200 top Japanese distributors.
Kauai set to host music showcase
The Kauai Music Festival will host a free performance showcase from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Shutter's Lounge at the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort, in anticipation of the main event, taking place at the Hilton from Aug. 1 to 4.
After the KMF Showcase, the public is invited to linger and enjoy the live jazz music featured from 8 to 11 p.m. every Saturday in Shutter's Lounge.
In its fifth year, KMF is developing into a premier annual event for singers and songwriters internationally. The KMF presents four days of songwriting and music-performance workshops, seminars, competitions, panel discussions and one-on-one interaction with some of the most successful producers and songwriters in the music industry, culminating in two public concerts from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 3 and 4.
Isle performers on Aug. 3 are Grammy winner Charles Brotman and Kohala, Sistah Robi Kahakalau, guitarist Darin Leong with John Yamasato, reggae "ambassador" Marty Dread and more.
The Aug. 4 lineup includes singer, songwriter and actress Alissa Moreno, Emmy-nominated songwriter Brian Howes, Grammy-nominated songwriter Shelly Peiken, Ambrosia front man David Pack, country's Jeffrey Steele and more.
Tickets are $25 per night or $40 for both nights if purchased in advance. Tickets will be $30 each night at the door.
