Iolani forward transfers to the mainland
Two-time all-state honorable mention forward Liloa Nobriga is transferring from Iolani to a school in Las Vegas according to Iolani coach Mark Mugiishi.
The 6-foot-4 Nobriga left for the mainalnd on Thursday, but was unsure what school he would be attending in Las Vegas.
"The whole family relocated there and we wish him the best," Mugiishi said.
Nobriga, who would have been a junior this year, averaged 11 points per game last season for a Raiders squad that saw its run of five consecutive state basketball championships ended in the state quarterfinals by Kamehameha-Hawaii.
Hogue to speak at QB club
Newly appointed PacWest Conference commissioner Bob Hogue leads the list of speakers for tomorrow's Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon that begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Pagoda Hotel.
Hawaii Hurricanes coach Alika Smith and Colin Fong and Joji Yoshida of the Hawaii Stunt Association will also speak. The program portion of the luncheon begins at noon and is open to the general public.
