» The Yankees demoted Bronson Sardinha (Kamehameha) from Triple-A ScrantonWilkes-Barre to Trenton. He responded by going 3-for-3 with a homer, triple and four RBIs in a 6-4 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Thursday.
» Brian Bock (Hawaii) was promoted to the Double-A Frederick Keys this week. Bock spent nearly all of last year with the Keys.
» Kea Kometani (Punahou) has had a resurgence after being placed in the bullpen after two years as a starter.
"It all comes to location," Frisco manager Dave Anderson told the Dallas Morning News. "He's got the stuff to make it to the big leagues, but he has to keep getting consistent. He's been very good for us this season."
» Reid Santos (Castle) began the season in the bullpen but has put together a 6-1 record with a 2.20 ERA in eight starts since leaving the 'pen behind.
"I can't say enough about the job Reid has done for us in a handful of different roles," Aeros manager Tim Bogar told the Akron Beacon-Journal. "It doesn't matter where we put him. He just seems to go out there and get the job done."
» Kila Kaaihue (Iolani) hopes his horrible 2006 is behind him, and it may be. He's hitting .278 with two homers, five doubles and nine RBIs and has five hits in his last three games with the Double-A Wichita Wranglers.
» Ian Mopas (Iolani) made his rookie league debut on Sunday with the Gulf Coast Twins. He gave up four hits and four runs and struck out two in a one inning appearance in the Twins' 9-7 loss to the Orioles.
» Justin Costi was released on July 5 by the Kansas City T-Bones of the Northern League.
» Dusty Bergman (Hawaii) has been suspended for three games for his part in a bench-clearing brawl with the Chico Outlaws. Bergman plunked Chico's Ricky Bambino with a pitch last week, and Bambino charged the mound.

Bergman, who also serves as the team's pitching coach, will spend his suspension in the broadcast booth with Silver Sox broadcaster Ben Deach.
