Truck driving champions announced
The Hawaii Transportation Association announced the following winners of the 2007 state Truck Driving Championships: Grand Champion,
Earl Rosado, Chevron Products Co.; Vehicle Inspection Champion,
Manuel Ramalho, Chevron Products; Large Team Trophy,
Fedex Express Corp.; Small Team Trophy,
Chevron Products; First-Time Competitor Champion,
John Harvest Jr., Fedex Express; Straight Truck Class,
Melvin Andrade Jr., the Gas Co.; 3-Axle Van Trailer class,
Manuel Ramalho, Chevron Products; 4-Axle Van Trailer class,
Joel Ramos, Airgas Gaspro; 5-Axle Van Trailer class,
Earl Rosado, Chevron Products.
Frank Appel, director of quality and patient safety at the Queen's Medical Center, was appointed to the 2007 Board of Examiners to evaluate applications submitted for the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award.
Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center named these winners in its annual Father's Day contest: first place, Audrey Boyle of Kapunahala Elementary School, David Arakaki, Koolau Baptist, and Jayvell Burns, Hakipuu Learning Center; second place, Tera Hanawahine, Puohala Elementary School, Annie Page, Kapunahala, and Matthew Oba, Stevenson Middle School; third place, Emma Chuck and Shae-Ann Aiwohi of Heeia Elementary School and Micha Maiawa-Pouvave, Kahuku Intermediate School.
