Kim seventh in junior golf event
Former Pahoa resident Kimberly Kim placed seventh and Ayaka Kaneko of Honolulu finished 17th in the American Junior Golf Association's Rolex Tournament of Champions in Columbus, Ohio.
Kim closed the tournament with a 1-under-par 71 on Friday for a four-round total of 11-over 295. Kaneko finished at 302 in the 30th annual tournament held at the Ohio State University Golf Club.
Smith to speak at Quarterback Club
Alika Smith, a former standout with the Hawaii basketball team and the new coach of the Hawaii Hurricanes of the American Basketball Association, will be among the speakers at tomorrow's meeting of the Honolulu Quarterback Club at the Pagoda Hotel.
Also on the agenda are legendary swim coach Al Minn, now director of the International Masters Swim Program, and UH assistant band director Gwen Nakamura.
The public is invited to the luncheon. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. with the program starting at noon.
