FACE of Nuuanu seeks designers
Designers are needed to participate in the second FACE of Nuuanu fashion show taking place on Oct. 13.
The red-carpet runway show on Nuuanu Avenue will be produced by Eric and Takeo of 2 Couture.
A cash prize of $500 awaits the grand prize winner. Designers may enter in four categories: day wear, Hawaiian wear, evening wear and resort wear. There will also be a separate contest for high school students only.
Designers must bring a sketch or a picture of their design, or mail it to the Louis Pohl Gallery, 1111 Nuuanu Ave., Honolulu, HI 96817. The deadline is Sept. 15. Start sketching!
Hunt on for Fantastic Sams models
Fantastic Sams is looking for models 18 or older with a great attitude and style to participate in a professional photo shoot to represent Hawaii in upcoming advertising.
Winners will receive a make-over, professional photos for portfolio use and other services and prizes valued at $500.
Applicants must bring in a close-up photo no more than a year old. Hopeful models can also submit photos to dmoss@fantasticsams.com. Entries are due by July 15; winners will be announced the following week. The photo shoot will be held in mid-August.

Aloha Tower to host First Friday fashion
Aloha Tower Marketplace is introducing a series of fashion events the first Friday of each month, including sales, style workshops, and more. Admission is free.
The first event at noon tomorrow is a "Pack Light While Traveling in Style" workshop.
