Tatsuno's time has come
Legendary Hawaii pitcher Derek Tatsuno will be inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in Lubbock, Texas, over the next three days.
Tatsuno, who pitched for the Rainbows from 1977 to 1979, still holds the NCAA record for strikeouts in a season with 234 in 1979 and shares the record -- with Mike Loynd of Florida State -- for wins in a season (20).
Tatsuno will be inducted with Jim Abbott of Michigan, Pete Incavigilia of Oklahoma State, Fred Lynn of USC, John Olerud of Washington State, Phil Stephenson of Wichita State and Arizona State coach Jim Brock, among others.
