Get unstuck from that rut
Richard Borreca's column
Is a frank review of the political scene.
He warns Democrats about misplaced clout
But there are additional things they should be thinking about.
Changing course can be a difficult task
So here are some questions Democrats should ask.
Why are we Democrats so often cowed
By public unions with our heads bowed?
Do we shun candidates who bear a resemblance
To one exhibiting any hint of independence?
Is that why Case and Heftel both got clipped
When seeking the Senate and the governorship?
Are we to create a Tammany Hall
Where power brokers make every call?
Can we abandon the past and look to tomorrow
And avoid the rule of a Tony Soprano?
If we don't change our ways, tell us, what then?
It will be Governor James "Duke" Aiona in 2010.
