Tia Carrere plans isle sweep to promote her new CD
FANS of Hawaii's
Tia Carrere, a movie and TV star who also tore up the floor on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," will have a good opportunity to get up close and personal with her soon. Tia will perform songs from
her new "Hawaiiana" album and sign her poster for those who buy the CD at Borders stores on June 30. She'll be at the Pearlridge store at 2:30 p.m. and that night at Borders Ward Centre at 8:30. On July 1, the Sacred Hearts grad will appear on the Flavors of Honolulu stage at 4 p.m. on the grounds next to City Hall. On July 2 she will be at the Pacific Beach Hotel's outdoor cafe for a broadcast with Japanese radio station 101.1 FM.

MAMA'S FISH HOUSE in Paia, Maui, was named one of Sunset magazine's "Top 10 Seafood Spots by the Sea" in the June issue. Mama's VP Karen Christenson Marshall credits chef Perry Bateman, the employees and the fishermen who bring in fresh fish daily for the honor. Five California restaurants, two in Oregon and one each in Washington and British Columbia make up the rest of the Top 10 ... Former Kamehameha athlete Rodney Morris, a retired Army colonel now living on the mainland, returned home recently to spend two weeks at Schofield Barracks as a consultant on operational readiness.
