Icon Sport fight postponed
The Icon Sport: Fearless event scheduled for June 30 has been postponed due to a shoulder injury suffered by fighter Robbie Lawler.
The fight card has been rescheduled to Sept. 15 at Blaisdell Arena.
Lawler, who is scheduled to face Kala Kolohe Hose in the event, suffered a separated shoulder during training, according to a statement released by Icon promoter Patrick Freitas. Doctors recommended Lawler allow four to six weeks for the injury to heal.
"It's heartbreaking that we won't meet on June 30," Hose said in the release. "But I want Robbie to take all the time he needs to heal. I want him healthy when I beat him. I don't want any excuses."
Tickets purchased for the original date will be honored at the Sept. 15 event.
Refunds must be done at the point of sale. Online sales will be refunded at ticketmaster.com. The Blaisdell Box Office will perform refunds starting Friday.
