Tasting will toast wines of Tuscany
Tour the vineyards of Tuscany simply by driving to Ala Moana Center for a benefit wine tasting, 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 25th at Morton's The Steakhouse.
"A Toast to Tuscany" will feature the "Super Tuscan" wines of Banfi Vintners, to benefit CORE-WISH, a partner of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. CORE-WISH supports employees in the hospitality industry who have children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Selections will include Banfi's Centine Rose, Centine, Castello Cum Laude and Castello Summus. Appetizers will be served, including Chicken Goujonettes, Miniature Prime Cheeseburgers, Colossal Shrimp Alexander and Italian cheeses. Cost is $45. Call 949-1300.
Dinner pairs beer with 5 courses
The Willows presents a five-course Summer Beer Dinner showcasing Belgian ales, American craft-brewed summer ales and Kauai beers with a tropical flair, at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Chef Jay Matsukawa's menu: Day Boat Scallop and Ahi Ceviche (with Troubadour Blonde Ale), Crispy Saffron Shrimp with Hearts of Palm Salad (Bieken Honey Ale), Masago Arare Crusted "Chicken Katsu" (Sierra Nevada Summerfest), Grilled Duck Breast with Roasted Corn and Fennel Relish (Keoki Tropical Tan) and Chilled Mango Panna Cotta & Mango Ginger Bread Pudding (Keoki Golden Mango).

Maui resort picks new executive chef
Craig Erickson has been named executive chef at Napili Kai Beach Resort on Maui.
Erickson, a Chicago native, most recently served as chef at Lahaina Store Grille & Oyster Bar. He has also served as corporate executive chef for 23 Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants, headquartered in Las Vegas.

Brasserie Du Vin: "Big Napa Flavors," 6:30 p.m. tomorrow features Cliff Lede Chardonnay, Duckhorn "Paraduxx," Peter Paul Merlot and Louis M. Martini Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, with a three-course menu by chef Scott Nelson. Cost is $70. Call 545-1115.
David Paul's Lahaina Grill: Josh Bergstrom hosts a Winemaker's Dinner, June 26, featuring Bergstrom Winery's riesling, pinot gris and three pinot noirs, paired with a five-course pre-fixe menu.
