Waipahu High School graduates Michael Caputo, right, Clarence Mamuad, Staven Berndt and Clydens Agaton hammed it up for a video camera yesterday before the start of commencement at Blaisdell Arena. Waipahu High had 430 graduates. Also graduating last night: Lahainaluna High on Maui with 190 graduates | McKinley High with 412 Mililani High with 590 | Pahoa High on the Big Island with 116 St. Andrew's Priory with 46.

After a few quick slurps, Jack Russell terrier Xena cooled off in a pan of drinking water after yesterday morning's 2.5-mile dog walk in Hawaii Kai. The event was sponsored by Hui Ilio Hawaii and expected to have 200 walkers with dogs. It started and ended in the Hawaii Kai Park & Ride Makai Lot, and pet owners and their four-legged companions were treated to various activities.
