Audubon Center director recognized
The National Audubon Society recognized Oahu resident
Diana King recently for her work as interim director of the Waimea Valley Audubon Center.
King was given Audubon's 13th Annual Charles H. Callison Award at the May 2007 Audubon Global Warming Retreat in Park City, Utah, the group said in a release.
The award recognizes King for "dedicated service and major contributions to the goals of Audubon through her sound leadership of the Waimea Valley Audubon Center."

Holumua Elementary School Principal Norman Pang has received the annual Masayuki Tokioka Excellence in School Leadership award.
Pang was given a $25,000 check during the Public Schools Foundation Dinner May 24 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Named after the late Tokioka, founder of Island Insurance Co., the award is given to a public school principal to recognize leadership and community involvement.
The Island Insurance Foundation also presented $2,000 to the top three semifinalists: Nanaikapono Elementary Principal Myron Brumaghim, Mililani Ike Elementary Principal Steve Nakasato and Ala Wai Elementary Principal Charlotte Unni.
