Wilhelm elected to UH Foundation board
The University of Hawaii Foundation elected
Lance Wilhelm to its board of trustees. Wilhelm is senior vice president and Hawaii area manager at Kiewit Building Group, a leading national general contractor and construction manager.
Wilhelm is a director on several boards, including the General Contractors Association of Hawaii, the Honolulu Executive Association, the YMCA of Honolulu and Honolulu Theatre for Youth.
A graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Wilhelm earned a bachelor's degree in communications from UH.
Nikki Manuel of Waipahu, a senior at John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences in North Dakota, received the John D. Odegard Aviation Flight Scholarship, valued at $3,000.
The Beta Beta Gamma Foundation provided a $2,500 grant to the YWCA Dress for Success program to help disadvantaged women trying to re-enter the work force.
The foundation also awarded $4,500 in scholarships for University of Hawaii students and $1,000 to the Hawaii Chapter of the American Red Cross's Kauai division to fund several scholarships for the underprivileged to receive certified nurses aide training.
